Except for check-in, it was good

Very clean and provided with all the basics and more. Quiet location in a small lane. Walking distance from Kaohsiung Train station and from the shuttle taxi to Donggang Wharf - walk to Spring Tourist Rental (春天旅遊汽機車出租) to grab a shuttle taxi to Donggang Wharf. Comfortable bed. Lots of hot water, good pressure. Water refill station in the breakfast room. Fun fancy elevator with lots of mirrors. It's a family run business and they were very helpful once someone came to check me in.

I had to wait a long time for someone to respond to my messages and come to check me in. I was ready to leave and find another hotel. When they finally came they were very helpful. I was glad that one of the daughters speaks English well. The staff person working during the day is not there in the evening. I highly recommend to arrange a specific time for check-in to ensure that someone will be there so you don't have to wait. Breakfast is self-serve instant soups and crackers and such - I prefer a freshly made hot breakfast.

Good stay overall

It was very clean. Not very far from the main station, only 10 minutes or so by taxi.

The staff couldn’t speak much English. The hotel was so quiet that we felt like we were the only guests there, a bit scary to be honest.

Exceptional

We like the room. It was spacious enough and the bathroom is clean. It was really worth the money we paid for. There were also free snacks in the common area. Would definitely book here again and would recommend it to friends.

The location is perfect,which is close to train station.

The location is perfect,which is close to train station.And the staff is kind and enthusiastic to us for introducing lots of great restaurants nearby.

It’s a little bit easy to hear voice from outdoor when sleeping in the room. And our room doesn’t have any view from our window sine that the house is close to other buildings.

Nice place to stay

The lady at the reception was very kind and helpful. Even though she didnt speak english, she used a translation app to explain everything and made us feel very welcomed. We were happy that we could use the laundry room. Free noodle soups and tea :)

Sadly we had some loud neighbours for one of the nights, but it is quite otherwise. It is a little far away from the MRT when you have heavy luggages.

a bit far from subway. Some things to improve

The room is not big but OK. Bed confortable. The room has been renovated. Everything is clean. There is a fridge, boiler with tea bags, hairdryer, shampoo, comb, toothbrush. The owner should be more present to help his customers with explanations. All the small things I didn't appreciate can be easily forgotten with a little bit of effort, then it can be good value for money.

The owner doesn't speak English. So no explanations about the shops or things to visit. I jus saw him when checking in as it was the week end. He disappeared. Room not cleaned the week end and towels not changed or dustbin not removed. So no bottles of water the second day. A bit far from the subway, so not really pleasant especially at night. All the shops around were closed ; impossible to find something to eat saturday late evening. It's a district with a lot of small shops for repairing scooters or other engines. No adaptator for electrical outlet (should know that foreigners need these adaptators)

Very clean, looks newly renovated.

Very clean, looks newly renovated. Self-service coffee, tea and snacks provided 24h. Lifts within the building makes it convenient as we had large bags. We also checked in after reception closed but the instructions were clear and easy to follow. Great value for room with attached bathroom and close to train station.

Similar to Airbnb

Front desk was extremely friendly and helpful. Bathroom’s newly renovated. Has everything you need (toothbrush, soap, shampoo, shaver). Cup noodles, snacks and drinks are also provided on the ground floor.

Not the best of locations. It’s a 1km walk from Formosa Boulevard Station and 700m walk to Kaohsiung Main Station.
